Why each month has two signs
Zodiac signs run from roughly the 20th of one month to the 20th of the next, so they never line up with the calendar. Every month therefore ends one sign and begins another, and the exact changeover date can shift by a day between years. The dates where that matters are set out in the cusp guide.
Frequently asked questions
Which zodiac signs fall in each month?
Every calendar month contains the end of one sign and the start of the next, because the sign boundaries sit around the 20th to the 23rd rather than on the first. That is why each month page names two signs.
Do all months have one birthstone?
No. Most months have one modern stone plus one or more recognized alternatives, and June and December have several. The month pages list them all with their own colors.
