Privacy Policy

Birthdex is built to respect your privacy by default. The short version: your birth date never leaves your device, and we do not run ads or third-party tracking.

Your birth date stays on your device

The birth profile tool runs entirely in your browser. When you pick a date, the sign, birthstone, birth flower and card are all worked out locally from data already loaded on the page. Nothing about your date is sent to us or to anyone else, and we never store it.

What we store

We store one thing in your browser, and only if you use it: your light or dark theme choice, kept in local storage so the site remembers it on your next visit. You can clear it any time through your browser settings. We do not set advertising or tracking cookies.

Analytics

If we use analytics, we choose a privacy-friendly, cookieless option that records only aggregate, anonymous page views and never your birth date or any personal detail. We do not sell or share data, because we do not collect data that could be sold.

The API and embeds

Our free JSON API and embeddable widget serve static files. Requesting them involves normal web-server logs (such as an IP address and timestamp) handled by our host, the same as any website. We do not add tracking on top of that.

Children

Birthdex is a general-audience reference suitable for all ages. Because we collect no personal information, there is nothing for a child to submit.
